Poured from a tap into a pint glass.
Appearance: Very dark black with a tan head. Head was 2 fingers high, and lasted a few minutes. It left a little lacing on the glass, and ended with a thin tan head still on the beer.
Smell: Aroma of roasted malts, rum, and chocolate. There is also some vanilla and caramel, but overall the roasted malt and chocolate dominate the others.
Taste: There is a nice mix of malt, rum, coffee, and chocolate flavors. Also some vanilla, marshmallow, and smokey roasted flavors. There is a lesser amount of bitter hop flavors to enhance the taste. There is a strong alcohol presence.
Mouth-feel: Big body, but also smooth. It has a little edge as a good Porter should, and is not as smooth as a milk stout.
This is a very good Porter, and I enjoyed the variety of bold flavors. There is a nice balance between the chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and hop flavors. Even though it is a big Porter, it is still smooth and enjoyable to drink. I would buy this again.

Rum Barrel aged with Vanilla
jet black, tan colored head. aroma is a touch boozy, you get the rum and vanilla on top of the chocolately roast. similar taste, the flavors all work well. on the sweeter side but not cloying. medium bodied, smooth.
