A silky, decadent pour of pure indulgence. This Imperial Stout was brewed with a mountainous array of kilned and roasted malts, giving powerful notes of baker's chocolate, Dulce De Leche, ice cream sundae, and dark cherry.

Just as nice as could be pour to empty the entire contents of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. An ordinary effort created a nearly perfect half inch dark tan/light brown tightly knit head. The liquid beneath is brightly black coffee brown. It's not pungent, possibly because it's cold, but it still brings the pleasant aroma of roasted malt. There's much more to taste, as a luscious body gives an opportunity for the espresso and dark chocolate characters to emerge. Referring to the brewer's notes, yes this is richly indulgent and the dark chocolate notes almost seem like they've been poured onto an ice cream sundae. When something brings this much body, questions as to how arise. Yet, according to the label, there are no milk solids and as it finishes so cleanly, that's believable. Credit here to the most judicious use of oats in an Imperial Stout you may ever find. But, other than a mild taste of dark chocolate and espresso, this doesn't bring a great complexity of tastes. That doesn't matter, because this is as luxuriously soft, smooth and rich as any stout made. Surprisingly, the glass lacing doesn't necessarily indicate that. Overall, this is one good tasting Imperial Stout, delivered with a body that is second to none.

From a 16oz can into a cocktail glass.
Black with dark tan head.
Light aromas of coffee, dark chocolate and smoke. Flavors open up on warming.
Taste follows. Lighter on the smoke.
Full bodied, thick mouthfeel. Bitter dark chocolate aftertaste.
This checks all the boxes of an excellent imperial stout.
