Like a long-lost friend, this welcoming and approachable West Coast Style IPA greets with an omnipresent aura of happiness. This helping friendly beer was brewed with pale malt and a touch of light crystal and then completely saturated with a blend of Cascade, Comet, Columbus and Simcoe hops. Dank and crisp with notes of candied citrus, resinous pine, and long walks in the woods.

Really not much here, this brewery has some really decent beers but this one does not represent. This one seems to be covering the basis for a genre without a good or experienced effort.

It starts by cracking open a pint can and emptying its contents into a clear glass Imperial pint mug. It's a nice fit, as the modest off-white head just surpasses the glass rim. The color is bright amber and it's just a little bit cloudy. Not only is it pretty, it smells good, with notes of pine and secondary citrus. To taste, it's not as bitingly hoppy as the nose predicted. Not to say it's not enough to please a hop head, it's just more rounded than many West Coast hop bombs. There's enough malting to give the resinous pine bite an earthiness, which curtails any astringency and adds a delightful layer. The malt also provides a body that's superior to many in this style. Some West Coast IPAs tone down the malty body to exaggerate the hop bite. This one gives you a wonderful hop bite, but in a body that's fuller and smoother than most. Flat out, a great IPA, regardless of subcategory. No concerns about the lack of lacing left in the glass.

Nice. Tap, pint. Fits the West coast IPA style description. Mild nose, nice variety of hop profile, reasonable balance smooth drinking, hoppy finish.

From a 16oz can dated 5/20/20 into a pint glass.
Pours a slightly murky tarnished gold color with about two fingers of thick very light yellow colored head. Excellent retention and lacing. Fair amount of visible carbonation.
Smells mainly of lemons with a bit of orange. A touch of dank earthiness in there as well.
Tastes of bittery lemons. Bitterness is quite strong after a few sips to coat the mouth. A few of the IPAs I've had from Well Crafted seem to have a similar taste. Can't quite put my finger on what it is, but it's present in this one as well. Not an off-putting taste, just an observation.
Slight stickiness in the mouthfeel although just a touch thin. Very drinkable even with the bitterness. Low to moderate carbonation. Strong bitter aftertaste.
Overall, another nice beer from Well Crafted Beer Company.
