From a 16oz can dated 6/9/20 into a pint glass.
Pours a deep golden yellow with about a finger and a half of white head. Great head retention, less than average lacing.
Smells strongly of sweet breads and grains. Almost has a cornbread vibe going on. An ever so slight alcohol scent as well-not surprising for 8.6% abv.
Taste follows the nose-grainy and bready. Quite sweet on the swallow with a touch of bitterness. Bit of alcohol heat.
Drinks quite smoothly. Heavier than a normal pilsner (like if Metallica covered a Phil Collins song). Aftertaste is a light mix of alcohol and bitterness. Low carbonation.
Overall, this is a great beer. I don't recall ever having an imperial pilsner so I don't have anything to compare it against. This is a great change of pace from all the IPAs but might be a little heavy for summertime drinking. Well done, Well Crafted!
