Bottle 0.33 L.
Light orange body with a medium, frothy white head, mostly diminishing with a fair lacing.
Moderate malty aroma with an evident alcoholic character and spicy notes.
Heavy sweet flavour with a light bitter note.
Light-to-medium body with an oily texture; soft carbonation; alcoholic warming in the finish.

Sestri Levante 16/7 1024. 44 cl can from Carrefour Express, Via Nazionale, Sestri Levante. Blue and silver can in Tennent’s usual design with the characteristic big red ”T”. The version I am drinking holds an ABV of 9,0.

Pours unclear golden yellow with a mid-sized white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty odor mingling with metallic alcohol. Whiff of sour grains. Sweet pale malts, syrup, bread and cereal. Sharp alcohol.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, greasy, soft, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is rough and bitter with a metallic bitter edge. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.

Another boozy, pale lager.

Cans. This is buzz bomb and nothing else, better or worse. Stunned to see it sold within the confines of Vatican Square. It’s not a pretty thing. It’s not horrid either.

Glass bottle version. Nice dark orange colour, bitter-sweet taste, refreshing inspite of the strong alcohol content. Nice.

Got absolutely nutted on a 4 pack of this as a young lad. Cut my finger on the ring pull and didn’t feel a thing. Still as I remember, thick, sweet back-taste. Industrial strength but no subtlety, but not generally drunk to be enjoyed-more for the buzz. Alabama 3 paid tribute to this drink in “The Old Purple Tin” - I think they summed it up best. Not for the faint hearted!

Bought from a corner store in Padua, 33cl bottle. Drinks like a standard adjunct lager with a bunch of sugar thrown at it. Smell has a boozy, almost liquor quality. Light body, moderate carbonation. Sugar and corn taste with no hop character. Unpalatable by about halfway through a bottle. It's good for getting a cheap buzz, but not worth drinking for quality.

consumed at the san siro stadium in milan, along with some very terrible food-truck food. i mean, what is there to say. it’s ungood. sweet, white bread malt flavour, and an array of astringent flavours, metallic, skunky, nail-polish-remover-y. medium carbonation and medium body. very bad.

I found a can in the off license neary the chippy so thought I’d follow Steve from Beer Nouveau & treat it like Barleywine
Pours a crystal clear golden body with really good white head
Aroma is butterscotch
Flavour is sweet toffee and it’s really pleasant till a metallic aftertaste

Decent fizzy head, clear tan color

Nose a bit macro lager, unfermentables, touch skunky, mild lager notes quite sweet and little fruity

Taste more sweet malts, plenty of sweet and syrupy, little lager notes, fruity, little alcohol, candy sugar syrup, touch skunky and unfermentables

Mouth syrupy sticky sweet med, decent carb
