Copenhagen 5/6 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Funny little ceramic bottle with cork cap.
Pours clear red tinged dark brown with big off-white head. Bubbly. Settles as 0 5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense. Strong sweet scent of malts mingling with fermented plum, vanilla, brown sugar and alcohol. Whiff of musty cellar.
Low carbonation. Medium thick palate oily, soft, smooth, almost flat texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a heavy sweetness. Bordering on being sugary. Almost no bitterness around. Aftertaste is very sweet. Lingers for a while. Finish is sugary.
This beer reflects the package it comes in quite accurately. Small, clunky and way too sweet.

De color cobrizo, al servirla tiene un cordón de espuma de buena retención. Cuerpo y carbonatación media. Aroma tostado y a frutos rojos. En boca destacan la malta tostada y el caramelo. Dulce pero sin empalagar.

Murky, dark brown and reddish. Off-white creamy head. Tall but not persisting. Leaving a decent lacing. Upfront bready notes, plums and other dark fruits. Medium-full sweet malty flavor. Full body, soft carbonation. Oily. Smooth. Dry, medium-long lasting dry finish.
It is a tasty beer but there was missing a bit of bitterness to crack this sweetness. Moreover sweet flavors persisted until a finish. Great beer anyway.

Served in a Leffe chalice, it pours a dark brown, clear, almost copper-like, with some red glare when playing with the light. The head is small, light brown, and had almost no retention. It leaves a nice lacing on the walls of the glass.
The bouquet is of malty sweetness, caramel, cherry, dark fruits as in prune, raisins and figs, just a tad phenolic as in medicine and a slight hint of booze. Aggressive swirling also reveal some hoppy spiciness, although such spiciness is not present normally in the bouquet.
Complex flavor, and quite tasty too.
Upfront a high carbonation that introduces a blast of multifaceted sweetness. Caramel, dark fruits, cherry, spiciness, phenolic, steely malty sweetness.
Mid-flavor a slight bitterness enters to balance this beer, and the new tamed sweetness lingers along with a subdued bitterness.
The finish is long, spicy and bittersweet with a caramel note.
Medium to light body, slightly silky and smooth.
A nice and tasty dubbel.
