Fruited kettle sour ale with a blend of pureed Montmorency Red Tart Cherries, dark Lambert Sweet Cherries, and light Royal Anne sweet cherries, dark chocolate, and milk sugar. A sensuous dessert in a glass. We used a hefty amount of all natural fruit and dense chocolate in conditioning this beer so some sedimentation may be present without need for concern.

Drank from a 1 pint (16 fl. oz.) can purchased at Fort Point Market, Boston, MA
Served in a tulip
The beer poured a hazy, bright raspberry hue and was topped by a fluffy, inch-tall, ultra light pink crown that slowly dropped to a thin collar. After each sip, a spotty wall of lacing cascaded down the sides of the glass.
The aroma was interesting but somewhat strange and also rather simplistic. Cocoa powder notes were immediately apparent. There was a tart, fruity quality as well that reminded me more of raspberry than cherry. Slightly medicinal perhaps. Hint of mustiness too.
The flavor profile was also solid and similar to the nose. Here, the cherry presence was definitely more apparent but it again seemed a touch medicinal. Powdered cocoa notes also came through fairly strong. More fruity tartness and acidity on the back end and the finish.
The mouthfeel was pretty nondescript. Medium-light bodied for the style. The liquid contained a finer bubbled, moderate effervescence that was appropriate for the style.
‘Sour Pleasure: Chocolate-covered Cherry was an enjoyable but somewhat strange fruited sour. I had a hard time determining whether or not I actually liked this.
