First review on beeradvocate. Had this at Congregation Ale House before the Rolling Stones show at the Rose Bowl, August 22, 2019.
Looks like a relatively significant SRM on the dark side for a pale ale. Full on amber, even slightly dark amber. Might even be darker than GOAT SNPA. Ok, expectations, will this be a malty pale ale? Tempered them right away (the expectations). 1/2" head on it. Aroma, yeah, seems more malty in a caramel way than hoppy. Not pulling much in that department.
They say its all Simcoe and Mosaic, I get some bitterness from the Simcoe, the Mosaic provided less "mosaicness" than your average pale ale with Mosaic. Too much malt to get a lot of tropical fruit notes or dankness. But it was still enjoyable, but on a summer day I want a little less malt when I'm on a patio drinking. Liked it, didn't love it. But I did get to drink it with Dr. Carroll, so anytime you get to have a beer with the most beautiful and intelligent person, much less doctor in the world, its a good time :)
