16oz can, picked up from the brewery, friendly staff. From my Instagram research, this can is getting close to the 3 month old mark.
Pours only a finger of head into a stemless wine glass, somewhat soapy and it fades quickly. Lacing is pretty good. Body is golden yellow, mostly clear but not crystal. Jury’s out here, but I guess this looks alright.
Nose is mild, some tropical fruit, pine/spice, has an edge to it.
Pine and spice come through on the flavor, maybe just the faintest fruit - you get some of the Cascade, but not really any of the Simcoe. Even considering the slight age, this still feels overly bland for the style.
Carbonation is somewhat high. Medium-light bodied. Not really any sweetness, though not dry either. Bitterness is medium-low. Serviceable mouthfeel.
Drinkability is fine.
Overall this is ok, but certainly somewhat mild, regardless of can vs glass. Not sure if that’s the recipe or the age. Generally even the mighty IPA is still kickin’ within 3 months.
