Burd's Nest Brewing Co. "Shy Ronny"
$5.50/pint on tap at the brewery on 8 September 2018
Notes: Black IPA. 69 IBUs. Very hazy and almost cloudy brown body beneath a short head of yellowed tan foam. I feel in this case the haze is a bit much but I'm guessing this brewery doesn't filter anything at all, and there's nothing wrong with that except when it doesn't quite fit. Average head retention and lacing. Chocolate in the nose... but that's not usual for the style. It's not so chocolaty in the flavor, more caramelish, but there is chocolate and fudge, and it's bitter with some citrus and very light pine. It even finishes with chocolate and fudge in the bitter and dry finish. Medium bodied and crisp. Overall a pretty decent beer.
