This one pours a very thick and syrupy looking black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells bracingly sweet, with sweet and heavy maple syrup, almond cream, coconut, milk chocolate syrup, and lots of coffee.
The coffee does its absolute best in adding some shades of bitter and balance to this. The maple syrup is just so dominant, and makes everything way too sweet. I'd wish for a less sweet coconut as well - maybe some more toast, rather than straight candy. I feel like I'm being negative - it's definitely tasty in small doses, just way too sweet.
This is thick, and very syrupy - it's a slow sipper due to how intense it is.
I love pastry stouts, but this is just too much at times.

very thick and syrup-y... reminds me of the Angry Chair stuff i tried. not my favorite 'style' of a brew/stout but it has some amazing flavor to it! almonds stand out in a very nice way. not really getting any of the subtleties of coconut (per the usual) but the sum of the parts is very very nice....
