Pours an oxidized-looking light orange color (with a brownish hue) and a thin finger of soapy, yellowed head. Decent lacing.
Orange and white pepper in the nose, with a little pineapple and mango behind.
Lots of orange cream in the taste. A touch of booze. Hint of ground pepper. A little bready-cakey flavor underneath.
Full bodied mouthfeel with some tight fizz cutting through.
A competent, if unoriginal, take on a New England double. It showcases the hops just fine, but they aren’t unique enough to make this stand out from the pack.
