poured from a white-waxed 500mL bottle into a TG DBA tumbler. pours dark and deep chestnut brown with ruby red edges and the faintest dark khaki colored head. bourbon, oak, caramel, toffee and dark fruit on the nose. as it sits and warms and opens up, the whiskey barrel becomes more prominent. taste is sweet toffee and light chocolate with oak and bourbon in the finish. some dark fruit characteristics but not as much as the nose. thick, syrupy mouthfeel. as this warms it really opens up. i let it sit out for close to 45 minutes before opening and it was still muted barrel but as this session ends the barrels are the star of the show. good stuff!

Bottle. No head. Dark brown nearing black color.

Fudge, oak, brownies, molasses, raisins, figs, vanilla, coconut. Amazing barrel flavors. Warming and smooth. This is a very thick Barleywine. Reminds me of anchorage stuff.

This is awesome. Borderline stout.

Pours a lovely dark amber-brown color with a paper thin mocha-colored head that instantly vanishes into a pencil thin crown. No lacing.

Powerful aroma of burnt sugar with some breadiness, Baker’s cocoa and boozy cherry cordial underneath.

That sweet cherry is up front in the taste, along with strong caramel and touch of cocoa for balance. Hints of port and maple. There’s really only a ghost of the burnt impression from the nose. Fairly strong alcohol.

Incredibly smooth, chewy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation.

The aroma had me a little worried, but this is a boozy, sweet, English-style treat with an exceptional feel. Highly recommended.
