For our fourth entry into the Bere series of barleywines, we brewed a new double mash recipe to express more dark fruit, caramel and toffee. We then aged this beer in a Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel for over one year. The resulting beer does not disappoint! In sampling, we were met with tons of fig, caramel, fruit leather and honey. The profile is boosted by the spirit barrel presence - oak, heat and chocolate on the back end.
