This beer pours black and viscous. It doesn't have much effervescence. I thin ring of tan head forms along the side of the glass.
Wonderful aroma. I get initial aromas of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. Then I get anise and toffee. I just keep smelling this beer. The aroma is so good.
Dessert-like flavor. Decadent with chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and caramel. Warm and sweet
Full bodied with a syrupy smooth mouthfeel
Fantastic beer. This is just great in every way.

A - Pours a deep amber with a thin tan head. Light amount of spotty lacing.
S - Aroma is molasses, vanilla, caramel and whiskey.
T - The taste is plums, dark cherries, molasses, brown sugar, oak and a spicy rye finish.
M - Full body with low carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a slick finish.
O - Solid. The rye tends to overtake the flavors of base beer a little too much.

Great rye, great malt.A Lovely drinker, sip by sip, raisin, fig. Bottle shared by Brian. What's not to like? Major league. Glad to have pretty fresh.
