Gose brewed with coriander and sea salt with passionfruit added. Poured from a can into a Wicked Weed tulip. The pour is gold in color and slightly hazy with about a finger of fine white foam. Poor retention (due to the acidity). I definitely get the passionfruit on the nose along with apples, pears, kiwi, and a hint of lemon.
Medium light body with a firm feel and a tart, fruity flavor. Sharp flavors of lemon rind up front with a little passionfruit and kiwi. The fruit flavors fade at mid-palate and a soft salinity creeps in. It carries to the finish, where it is joined by some lemon, leaving a sharp tartness behind. Overall, very refreshing and a nice example of a fruited gose. I will definitely try some other offerings from Sour Note.

Some fruits are just better than others. And when it comes to sour ale, two fruits stand tall amidst the rest. Apricot and passionfruit may not seem like standout fruits on their own, but in sour ale they zing! The Sour Note team employs the power of passionfruit to seduce its imbibers with unapologetic effect.
Pouring a slight foggy goldenrod, Passion Fruit Gose brings a spritzy liveliness that rises and falls with a quick, loose froth. Racy aromatics fill the nose with tropical fruit, citrus, cider and white wine along with a light leathery must. Gentle sweetness layers on the tongue with a wafer thin maltiness that's suggestive of sourdough, saltwater taffy and hard candy.
Sweetness fades nearly as quick as its froth while the sourness begins to build upon the middle palate. Passionfruit flavors float above the natural fruitiness of lime, lemon, white grape, green apple, gooseberry and kiwi. Melon-lie flavors come along a juicy but acidic path with distinct sour, dry, juicy kiwi taste to round out the late palate.
The softness of perfumy coriander and the rounded flavor from sea salt keeps the ale tasting and feeling full yet bright while the unique acidity of peach bring a slight stone fruit character to the finish. Clean acids wash the thirst with ease as a quick after taste of peach and burlap highlight the beer's brightness and brininess all at once.
