500ml bottle purchased at People's COOP in La Crosse WI. Bottled 01/16/25 9.1% ABV. Collaboration with Working Draft.
Nice looking with a short but persistent creamy light tan head. It leaves some nice lacing till even after the whole bottle is consumed.
Nose follows the taste.
Taste is chocolate, roast and a micro hint of coffee. There is some caramel in the background. This beer is slightly bitter overall, but there is some sweetness in the start and middle. ABV is very well hidden. Finishes slightly dry.
Mouth feel is good, smooth slightly malty and creamy.
This is a nice beer. 4.25+/5

Appearance: Pours a completely dark, nearly black color with a strong tan head that is pillowy and lingers. SRM of 24. (4.25)
Aroma: Strong aromas of dark cocoa, roast, chocolate. Roasty, airy, and clean.
Flavor: Strong flavors of English cocoa, chocolate, some vanilla and cream. A roasty and dryness in the middle. More English cocoa lingers before a bittersweet finish.
Feel: Medium-body, strong carbonation. Finish is smooth, airy, and clean.
Overall: One of my first try at Giant Jones Brewing from Milwaukee. This is supposedly one of the best small-batch breweries in Wisconsin. Cool can art. A fantastic Baltic Porter here. English cocoa, somewhat bittersweet, yet clean, dry, and roasty. Not much to improve upon here. Superb can art. Beautiful pour. Great aromas. Flavors don't miss a beat. If this is the standard for Giant Jones I will definitely be trying more
