Appearance: Pours a moderately clouded (30% clarity) medium orange/amber color with a moderate off-white head. SRM of 15. (3.75)
Aroma: Mild aromas of rich bread, yeast, some amber notes and spices.
Flavor: Moderate flavors of rich bread, amber malts, some sweet Belgian candi sugar and spices. Sweet off the end.
Feel: Medium-bodied, average carbonation. Yeasty and carbonated, drying the palate off the end.
Overall: First try at this brewery out of Madison. Strong bread and amber malts. Some Belgian sugar and spices too. Yeasty and prickly on the palate. Not quite as dark or smooth as I expected. Drinks a bit more like a Belgian Strong Ale and something about the carbonation isn't quite right as it feels prickly. It's not bad, but sort of tastes like I would expect it to taste it I tried homebrewing it.
