This is something new for this brewery, and it came out pretty well. Usually stouts this heavy are very sweet, and this one is not, so that's good. However, I'd almost say it went too far the other way, where it was sort of bitter or smoked. I got a strong burnt coffee taste, which was not what I was expecting, but on the other hand, I didn't taste the 10.6% ABV either, so it was well hidden. I think this could be really good if aged on something that brought out a little more of the sweetness to balance it better.
