Nice pour. Solid dark brown color, lots of carbonation. Light brown head that lingered a bit.

Definitely smell some nuttiness on the nose.

Very thin. Not much actual flavor.

Decent beer, nothing special.

Poured from a pint can into a Hopside Down style glass. Caramel colored two fingered head with excellent lacing thru out consumption.. The body of the beer is charcoal black. The aroma of licorice, coffee, smoke and a touch of maple syrup is noticed. The first sip has the toasted malt and coffee flavor, with a definite maple syrup sweetness on the tongue towards the end. I didn't detect the nutmeg but I'm not sure how it would taste, so that could be on me. This brew is well composed and that 10% abv is well hidden in the flavor range. I love this season's experimental efforts with stouts from Connecticut brewers, a nice seasonal change of pace that complements the weather!
Hoax Brewing has a very good version of an Imperial Stout with Nutmeg State of Mind!

Had on tap. Pour clear, dark brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is big maple with caramel and toasted malt. Sweet with medium bodied and moderate carbonation. Makes for an excellent dessert beer. The maple here is sweet and dominant, however it is never cloying and this does still taste like beer. First experience with this brewery and it does keep me interested in trying their stuff. Would get this again.
