Very pale yellow colour, no haze and a thin layer of foam. Promising smell of flowers and yeast. The taste doesn't live up to its expectations however. Malt, citric and alcohol, though the latter isn't dominating and complements the others quite well. Quite refreshing for a beer with such a high abv, but a bit too bland as well. Tastes a bit too much like a strong euro lager to me. Not a bad beer, but not an impressive one either.

Sweet bubblegum smell. Makes me worry a bit as it could be boozy now.
Taste is harsh alcohol with malt. Sugary alcohol. It's clear to me this beer isn't flavoured enough to justify the extra abv.
Overall this is like an ordinary strong euro lager taste.

For an offering from a mass-producer brewery it's a very good effort. It pours well, with a generous head which does not disappear immediately, and leaves delicate lacing. The smell is that typically spicy smell one gets from the stronger Belgian-style blonds (think Duvel). the taste is citrus, with hints of cloves, and there is an efervescence in the mouth that leaves a tingle on the tongue. Overall a very satisfying beer.

The category listing for this beer is wrong. It's a blond, not a dark ale. The name translates to "heavy blond" which is a reflection of the high alcohol content.
