a really exceptional beer, easily my favorite of the couple that i had in here yesterday, and quite well proportioned between the two extra ingredients. the coconut is well restrained, natural and not too sweet, but more importantly i think, the almond is natural and forward, not extracty and forced, like real nuts, lightly toasted, buttery, and earthy, excellent in this well made but simple base porter, the combination of the almonds and coconut makes it! its matte dark brown with a little bit of head on it from the tap, good body and viscosity and creaminess for being as low alcohol as it is. maybe a touch more residual sweetness than it needs, but it has a lot going for it, i think the sugar highlights the almond well, and it lets the coconut linger. on top of that, there is enough dark malt in here for this to stay balanced, roasty, and porter before adjunct. a smart beer overall, i love the almond, and really its one of the better uses i have seen of this tricky ingredient. a nice beer for fall, go get some!
