Definitely a spot that has a lot of character (in a good way) with a bar when you first enter, an indoor seating area to the right, and outdoor seating as well. This spot has a couple of TVs (showing the World Cup with no volume) and music playing at a volume that allows for comfortable conversation. Casual and kid friendly, at least at lunch time. Busy even at a late lunch on a Thursday as well as many people picking up take out.
Beers were well poured into a variety of different glassware including snifter and pint glasses - I also saw "frozen" pint glasses used but only for BMC beers and those customers seemed happy to get them (it was a very hot afternoon - mid-90s). Beers were served at a reasonable temperature with a decent amount of head.
Service was friendly and attentive - drinks were served promptly, orders taken quickly, and food brought as soon as available. I did not have any beer questions so I cannot attest to the beer knowledge of the server as I knew what I wanted when I saw the draft handles even before getting seated.
Decent selection with a range of styles and breweries including some local, some regional, and some national craft brands.
Food was very good - pizza was good (and this comes from someone that lived in NYC) as were the garlic knots. Salads looked very good and my kids loved the fact that they had ice cream for dessert.
