Having this beer on-tap at the brewery. Served in a snifter glass, this beer draws a clear, deep, dark red/copper color with a small white head that’s about 1/3 of an inch thick thick when first drawn and served. Settles to a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass along with a trace of cluster swirls of foam on the beer’s surface. Has aromas of toasted, bready, caramel malt sweetness followed by some fruity notes of figs and plums along with some more sweetness of what I imagine must be Belgian Candy Sugar. A very similar flavor profile here, with somebtoasted, bready, caramel malt sweetness followed by some fruity notes of figs and plums, Belgian Candy Sugar, and of course some booze notes being that this beer is 12.5% ABV. The flavor profile is pretty much spot on for the style. Has a slightly crisp, just slightly oily and chewy and prickly, also smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with light to moderate carbonation. Has a mostly clean finish and a fairly sweet, slightly spicy and fruity aftertaste. A good beer all around.
