8 ball black with a puffy tan head quickly settling to a thin ring.
Quite sweet, it's much like maple on the nose. Even sweeter on the palate, it begins closing in on cola qualities, complete with a lighter body. Additional hints of glazed pecan and chocolate syrup add to the sweetness before the oak adds a kind of hickory aspect I'm not often fond of. While a little sticky on the lips, the finish is a chewier dry.
Not as successful as I assumed it would be, it makes me think more of a sweet stout aged in something like Woodford Double Oak barrels.
