Matte black with a thin khaki head that quickly recedes to a fuzzy garter.
So the description on the bottle is lacking, as there is way more going on here than it lists. Sassafras and orange peel, big time, almost to the point that I smelled paint at first. It's not all that bad, but when you say old fashioned, it's best to say why it's so bold. Would love to know if they used bitters barrels, essential oils, or whole orange peel. It's intense, and turned some people off, particularly those not that familiar with the cocktail.
