Brewed with our friends and amazing home brewers Larry and Donna Reuter, this is Larry's scaled up and slightly tweaked version of their award winning American Barleywine recipe "Big Blimp". We tweaked the hop additions and the dry hop.

Looks a clear deep red with light lacing
Big malt and big piney hop smell.
Taste is the same. Good balance.
Feels really thick.
Overall, very enjoyable.

Appearance is rather beautiful chestnut red--uniformly foggy appearing almost solid--with a thin but soft white blanket.
While this is yet another Missing Mountain beer with plenty of soft carbonation, it's contrastingly a step shy of Arrogant Bastard. That fluffiness with a little sticky sweetness mitigates, but the fiery pine and orange peel are still aggressive, meeting a little dankness with a hint of overripe peachy pineapple.
I can't wait to see what the Hoppin' Frog version is like--the description sounds like it'll be even more aggressive--but I can't imagine them going in that direction anymore these days.
