Ruby brown color. Clear. Extraordinary tight-bubbled head. It looks like a nitro pour but it’s not. Blanketing lace throughout with thicker rings after each sip. Simply one of the most beautiful looking beers I’ve ever had.

Semisweet caramel with a light touch of semisweet chocolate nose.

Thinner body as expected with a neutral to lower carbonation level. Like the smell, more caramel than chocolate. There’s light hop bitterness in the swallow. This is certainly one of the most complicated dark ales.

Roasty, a little chocolate, a touch of smoke, more bitter than sweet. Pleasantly light. Mouthfeel a little thin but okay. Nice tingle from the bitterness. This would probably benefit from drinking at a slightly warmer temperature than my 42F fridge. So far I've had three Dark Milds and this is the best of the three. I like having a lowish ABV beer around, and this is a good one.

Pours a nice mahogany with a dense frothy head.
Smell and taste are pleasant, nutty, light roast coffee and caramel, sweet dark whole-grain bread.
Light body and clean finish, nice carbonation. Refreshing yet a good depth of character worth sipping for a while.

Very glad to see an uncommon (in US cans) style well crafted.

A- Tallboy pours into an 8oz becher with a deep crimson to mahogany body and a two finger head. That cap has very good retention and a bubbly foamy, yet thick consistency. Large webs of lacing for the first few sips and plentiful spots below that.

S- The aroma really makes the malts shine with a spectrum between light grains and subtle roasted notes. Heavy notes of toast, nuts, toffee, freshly mashed barley husks with hints of cocoa, roast barley and caramel. Tiniest hint of fruit and some bread.

T- Pretty much balanced between dry and sweet with a light residual sweetness mostly in the finish along with a light bitterness. Mild as the style would imply but still plenty of malt flavor with the nuttiness and grainy notes leading the way again. Subtle roastiness, toffee and a hint of bread.

MF- Very light bodied with a decently foamy texture. Carbonation is at a high level and it finishes bittersweet.

Accomplishes what the style goes for, to be honest. The great aroma is rich and malty and brings great nutty, slightly roast and grainy notes. Light yet still flavorful and full on the palate.

Pours a deep Amber with nice head. Smell is restrained, a bit nutty and some sweet malts. Flavor is also restrained, dark bread, some roast, and just a touch of sweet malt. Light and rather refreshing.

My first of this style. A nice change of pace, but not enough there to keep me going back for more.

Canned 9/17/18, difficult style that I love when done right

Pours mahogany brown but very clear, light fizzy head fades quickly, very little lacing

Nose nice toasted brown malts, caramel, syrup, molasses, faint coffee but not roasty

Taste mild syrupy like but not really, just perception of sweet and syrupy, molasses, caramel, root beer like spices, toasted brown malt, hint of cocoa and cola, decent earthy hops kick in mild bitterness, drier finish

Mouth is med to lighter bod, tingly bright carbonation

Overall quite well done, really hits the style, esp the amount of flavor and aroma with light butt good body and carb, but still only 3%
