Smooth, slick, velvety body, nice silky beige head. Pleasant chocolate, roast malt aroma. Taste brings in lots more roast malt bitterness, lingering dry semi sweet chocolate finish. All around great stout.

Arrives a dark none, near black with a foamy tan head.
Roasty, nutty, light cocoa notes. A well done beer, but reminds me more of a bone ale rather than stout.

22 ounce bottle - $5.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body. It's got good head formation, frothy and light beige in color. Minor lacing on the descent.
Smell: Roasty aroma, blackened, chary malts, espresso grinds and dark chocolate with a fine, thin touch of fruitiness.
Taste: Upfront roastiness, with a bit of a hard-roasted element and faintly ashen bringing about espresso and bitterish dark chocolate squares. Some oats showing beyond the robust roasty malt. Light, tangy dark fruitiness. Modestly hopped, gently bitter, with a little citrus as it warms. Roasty, subtly nutty, drying finish with that soft bitterness lingering into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It'd prefer to see its harder roasted, chary aspects softened, but, it's still a fairly good stout.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a tulip.
Appearance: totally black with a thin layer of frothy tan foam atop. Not bad at all.
Smell: lightly roasty, lightly sweet aroma; there are caramel notes here as well as a general roastiness. Definitely stouty, but a little low in volume.
Taste: a little bitter and astringent right up front; there's a ton of roastiness here. The astringency continues right through the palate; I like it to a point, but overall it seems a little burnt. It's good if you like that kind of dry burnt-ness.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a relatively low carbonation and a moderate creaminess.
Overall: a bit on the dry and roasty side for me, but not a terrible beer by any means. It just doesn't particularly suit my palate.
