This was poured into a pilsener glass. The appearance was a nice dark brown color with a one and a half finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute leaving a super nice looking semi-thick lacing roaming in a clingy sort of way. The smell had a really super nice roasted nutty caramel maltiness roaming in and around a glossed over cocoa. Its really enticing. The taste was basically the same and had a light coffee to come in on the taste and end up amplifying the roast a bit more in the aftertaste. The finish is quick and mainly dry. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a good smooth roastiness rolling across my tongue. Overall, I say this was a pretty good doppelbock I’d have again.

Not a home run, but a god solid swing for the fence. Cola colored body, with small beige head, leaves streaky lacing. Light dark malt aroma leads to a pretty robust taste, mildly sweet, malty and dry. Finish lingers for a while, pleasant aftertaste. Nice job.

Looks exactly like a root beer. Very dark reddish brown, clear. Head is fine and creamy, is of lower-medium retention, and golden brown in color. Enticing smells of molasses, nuttiness, a little chocolate, toast, light roastiness, spirit-like booziness. Lighter dark chocolate first, followed by weaker toffee and then stronger molasses, not cloying in my opinion. Moderately smokey throughout, as well as dark fruits. Almost licorice toward the end but all but obliterated by mild but persistent peppery booze flavor. Medium-bodied, almost smooth, would be syrupy were it not for high concentration of fine, creamy suds. Dryer, cleaner, crisper finish than you would expect for style, sweetness, and ABV, though still some lingering sensations. Alcohol presence not really noteworthy in terms of heat. While interesting, this registers as a slight disappointment to me, but it is all really a matter of taste. Still, I am loving this beer!

One of my all time favorite beers. I love this brewery and the master peices they create.

12 ounce bottle - $1.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with a smallish, though slightly creamyish, beige head. Nil lacing.
Smell: FS's bottled bock smells of dark bread, modestly hinting of grain, with soft, subtle touches of brown sugar and cocoa powder backed by a dark fruitiness.
Taste: Dark toasty breadiness, with sweetish accents of dark brown sugar and cocoa. A little sweet grape fruitiness follows. A light, earthy bitterness midway, maybe a bit of vague citrus. Semi-dry and still full of dark breadiness and fruit on the light finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: Without the sugary, heavy or boozy qualities of some, this bock is comparatively light and easy-going.

I got a single bottle off the "seasonal" shelf. Poured into an oversized wine glass. Dark opaque brown with no head nor lacing. Malt, toast, coffee, orange rind, the dark sweetness that makes doppelbock one of my faves. I will seek this out next winter.

Solid Bock at a decent price. Easy to drink and to the style. Can't complain.

A moderate pour from a longneck into a shaker pint produces a creamy looking head that settles down quickly but sticks around nicely. The beer is a dark ruddy brown with medium carbonation.
The aroma is malt-forward with detectable Munich and/or Vienna malts. Very apparent are some chocolate, molasses and dark fruit notes- it’s got that chocolate covered cherry thing that I really like in this style. The malt is really excellent tasting actually. Some nice earthy bitterness and hop tang balances out the sweetness. Maybe a little wood and some smoke in there as well. The mouth feel is rather light with a lingering tongue tingle.
This double bock is rather light bodied for the style but manages to be deliciously malty. I think I can still enjoy this yet while the weather is a bit cool. Excellent quality for a domestic Bock.

Good nose and flavors of chocolate and caramel, a little bready, and good body. Maybe a hint of smoke in there. A negative for me was that it seemed to have too much bitterness, especially towards the end of the taste, as well as some citrus. Just a bit too much hop influence. Curiosity got me to look it up - Most doppelbocks I enjoy are low to mid 20's IBU and this one is mid 30's.
