Shaker glass on tap at the brewery, listed as 22 IBU with 35% Wheat, Debittered Chocolate malt, and German Hersbrucker hops. Appearance is a trubid dark walnut witha pretty tight, eggshell color head that leaves moderate lace.
Smell is faint, caramel, no real hefe esters, a bit sweeter as it warms (served ice cold).
Taste is also mostly soft caramel, some spicy hop bitterness keep it balanced, pretty good if a bit light flavored.
Mouthfeel is crips and dry, with a medium light body.
Drinkability is good. This was pretty unusual for a Dunkelweizen, and can probably be just as easily classified here as an American Dark Wheat Ale. However, Full Sail's literature on the bar clearly called it a Dunkel, so I'll respect that. Irregardless, it was a tasty little beer, an good choice for summer, lighter and easy drinking without being bland.
