Motor oil ;no light;, No head to speak of. Dark fruit, figs, currants, raisins, and cherries at the end in the nose with burnt malt. Sweet and creamy, coats the tongue. Dark chocolate, cherries, and alcohol dance with each other out the back door. Worth sipping.|1/8/2013

This was served in a standard shaker pint. The beer is jet black with a creamy tan head. The lacing covers the glass. It’s a looker!
It has an inviting aroma of roasted grain, dark fruit and a hint of coffee.
The taste leads with heavily roasted malts, then coffee, bakers chocolate and then raisins. There is lots going on and it’s all good. There is a a little alcohol in the finish.
The mouth is decent with low carbonation, I don't know why, but I wish it was a bit beefier and creamier.
This was a great nightcap beer. Kudos to the brewer!!
Note this one of two stouts on tap the night I was a the pub.
