Sawa is the Japanese translation for "sour", and this beer is our interpretation of this refreshing style of beer. In this version of Sawa we added Yuzu, a Japanese citrus of sharp acidity and extremely aromatic, reminiscent of Sicilian lemon, mandarin and grapefruit.
This sour also takes Amarillo and Cascade hops in dry hoping, further enhancing the citrus characteristics of this rare fruit.

Brewed with Yuzu
From the can this pours with a glowing, golden hue, capped by a thick cloud of foam. The yuzu notes on the nose remind me of a bright, citrusy, lemony zest, with some melon characteristics mixed in. The finish has this simply wonderful and understated candi/lemony custard note that I just found so fascinating. Utterly delightful.

Pours a med fizzy foamy 1 finger head with med retention, semi hazy golden pilsner color
Nose brings a nice yuzu citrus, tangy acidic sour funk as well, little malt character, nice tropical citrus kinda thing
Taste brings some tart funk out front, mild sour tangy acidic funk, nice tart level, a little lemony like but nice citrusy yuzu and almost tropical citrus again, a little malt character as well, drier finish a touch flemmy,
Mouth is lighter bod, med-lighter carb, a touch flemmy but nice acidity
Overall an interesting beer, very easy drinking and enjoyable, a nice summer beer and probably great in Brazil, and fruit was nice

A: The beer is hazy pale light yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that quickly died down, leaving some delicate lacing on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of sour yuzu fruit are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is rather sour and is dominated by flavors of yuzu fruit, which are mostly lemony in nature.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and is somewhat tart with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has some refreshing properties.
