A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that left a short head covering the surface, a thin collar around the edge, and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dark and roasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and also has notes of licorice that linger into the finish. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and quite dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite toasty and dry but does a good job at masking the alcohol from the taste.
