Haven't had a Belgian Strong Pale Ale in a while. This one didn't do it for me. From a Brazilian Brewery and contract-brewed in the United States. Poured from a 16 oz. can into my Chimay goblet, this beer was a nicely carbonated, clear orange/copper color with a bubbly white head that faded quickly. Not much lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste were not as robust s you would like in a Tripel or BSPA. There was some Belgian yeast, some "apples and pears" and grape fruitiness but not a whole lot going on in what should be a complex style. There was also a mild metallic taste that I found somewhat off-putting. Not really a bad beer but not up to the expectation I would have for a strong Belgian style beer. Mouthfeel was medium bodied, crisp and nicely carbonated. The alcohol was well hidden for an 8.8%. abv beer. I've had better.
