Like great desserts, Whole Hog Oatmeal Cream Pie is all about the finest ingredients and caring about each step. It starts and stops with a molasses-rich oatmeal stout – Chocolate, Victory, and Maris Otter malts, roasted barley, and oat flakes – sandwiched around the delightful flavor of thick creme filling and cookie spice.

Appearance: Black, ok head.
Smell: Smells like an oatmeal cream pie, with maybe a bit of artificial peanut butter thrown in.
Taste: Sweet, with a pretty big hit of cinnamon quickly following. Medium bodied. Stays sweet and cinnamon-y through the finish.
Overall: This is just too sweet for my palate and way more cinnamon than I recall in oatmeal cream pies. Not for me.

Pours a dark brown with red highlights. Nice sticky beige head and lacing.
The aroma is if roasted malts, vanilla and dark fruit.
The taste is pretty much spot on. Lots of dark roasted malts with some sweetness and spices. Molasses and dark fruit at mid-glass add to the enjoyment.
The feel is silky and a touch thick. For me, this a great dessert or end of night beer.
Whole Hog has another winner on their hands.

Well it doesn't really remind me of an oatmeal cream pie I get typical stout base roast chocolate mild bitterness. A bit of vanilla and cinnamon graces the palate but none of the bite of say Dad's Oatmeal Cookie Stout from O'Fallon which actually is very oatmeal forward.
Its not terrible but defiantly not the sweet treat I expected it to be. Just glad I didn't buy more than one.

Pours a dark brown color with a finger of head. The nose has definite notes of oatmeal. The oatmeal carries over into the flavor profile. However, there is also an artificial sweetness that is less pleasant. The finish is dry with the essence of cinnamon.

12 oz bottle into a Becher glass.
L: Pours very dark brown with mahogany edges, a fizzy cola-like dark tan head that is very short-lived, fairly lively carbonation, no lacing.
S: Vanilla, toffee, caramel, nuts, root beer, dark bread.
T: Rich caramel candy, oats, sweet chocolate, salt, toffee, brown bread, dark fruits, coffee, vanilla, char, bitter dark chocolate, marshmallow, light hazelnut, cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut, lemon zest in the finish. It is moderately sweet with a light trace of alcohol with warming.
F: Fizzy and cola-like medium-heavy body with a medium-long finish that is drying on the tongue.
O: An aromatic & robust beer with bold, complex, full flavor. Fairly sweet with identifiable tastes that follow its description. Feels like drinking root beer. It is good in its style.

Solid black appearance with almost no head
light carbonation with an above average body, has a creamy slightly oily feel
Aroma is a tad bit of alcohol but otherwise its marshmallow, malt, cocoa, roasted malt, with some Graham cracker.
Taste is almost identical to aroma. Alcohol, marshmallow, cocoa, malt, roasted malt, sweet but not over the top.
Overall this is far from a down a few after mowing the lawn beer. But as a dessert beer its really good

On tap in the city they make it in. Nice example of the type. Not as fond of the spices used. It’s a bit alcohol forward. But I’d drink it again and probably will since it’s local.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip.
Pours almost black; fluffy khaki head that fades leaving solid retention and lacing.
The aromas have some hints of marshmallow and spices. Some cocoa. Malts are there.
The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. Some cinnamon leading the way and also shining in the finish. Some graham crackers. Hints of vanilla and chocolate. Some banana in the mix. Subtle bitterness. It's not as sweet as I expected. Malts do their thing. Alcohol is well hidden.
Mouthfeel is medium to full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It feels light but thick at the same time.
This is a solid brew. It might not be as special as I thought it could be considering I'm a sucker for oatmeal cream pies, but it's still nice. It has all of the flavors that you'd expect. Not bad at all. I do like it.
