Tasty and pleasant hazy IPA, on the quality juicy and tropical side of the New England IPA spectrum. Another solid hoppy offering from SOMA.
Presentation: 440 ml can. SOMA identifiable design with a bright retro geometric pattern. Symetric squares and rhomboids converging on a multicolored V shape. Notes Lot 25-070_26/08/25_26/02/26, and shows 6,5% Vol. Served in a tulip-snifter.
L - Hazy light yellow with a nice creamy head, medium to low retention, and moderate lacing.
S - Generic tropical notes on the nose, blend of pineapple-mango-citrus and a general sense of Citra.
T - Taste follows with fresh juiciness, blend of that pineapple, passion fruit, and citrus.
F - Medium to light body, creamy with balanced carbonation.
O - Tasty drink, hitting default and somewhat generic quality notes for a New England IPA. And it is nicely rounded in that flow.
Notes: SOMA does great with hops, and this is another example in their emerging offerings. While often their double or even triple IPAs gather more attention, their single IPAs are also very notable and tasty. Purr is one of those that would be nice to have around often to drink casually. (There is a discrepancy between the Alc. on the can at 6,5% and SOMA website on 7%)
