Bought a can at the brewery, but it was almost a year before I drank it, so age may have smoothed some edges off.
A - Pours out a copper red color, slightly hazy, with a slight purple tint, a lightly pinkish, off-white head, quick to fade to nothing.
S - Acidic splash of fruit and sourness, a definite wild funk running through, making for sharp nose overall.
T - Blasts off with citrus sourness, lemon and lime, with tropical underpinnings. The melon and cherry offer a bit of sweet highlight, over a sour core, and a tannic element comes forward in the finish, bringing tea-like qualities that deepen the close.
M - For as sour as this is on the tongue, the feel is surprisingly restrained. There is a subtle bite, but not severe puckering, and a dry note in the finish that cleans things up and keeps the party going.
O - I enjoyed this one, although probably not enough to seek it out again, since I suspect it needed the age to land here. But appreciate the work here, and that the result is an effective mélange of elements that is greater than its parts. Solid.
