This is the IPA that will reinstate your faith in a world gone hopping mad. The SCB IPA begins with a solid malty backbone supporting a tropical aroma and taste with hints of peach, mango and tangerine. Adding both mosaic and citra hops before the boil creates an IPA that’s like integrity in a glass.

Great dark gold body; fairly dense carbonation; thick, semi-creamy head, foam sheeting readily apparent. Low-key malt note in the aroma; a smidgen of spicy hop smell. Malt-forward flavor; a bit of diacetyl; minimal hop flavor or bitterness. Medium-heavy body; semi-crisp as there's a nice warm residual sugar undercurrent.
A good India pale ale. I need to research this one as it smacks of old school English IPAs more than anything else. Whatever the brewer's intent, I like it because it is more malt-forward than most offerings one finds in the US.
Pouring temperature: n/a; tap info: Ike's Place, Abilene, KS

Late note: a check of the brewery web site doesn't specify whether this is an English style IPA or not. It does mention Citrus and Mosaic hops, but I don't get any hop notes from those varietals.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy sheets of lace. It smelled of roasted malt, sweet caramel and piney notes. Sweet caramel with toasted bread, some citrus and a piney bitter bite.
