I had this beer on tap about a year ago, and really enjoyed it. Let's see if it's the same in a can.
Note: 4.6% ABV. Not 6%
Appearance: Certainly hazy, looks like a glass of orange juice, Very cloudy yellow. Frothy head disappeared very quickly, but I have poured it into an Ikea tumbler.
Smell: extremely citrusy, smells a lot like a glass of orange juice, with lime, passionfruit and mango. A balanced sweetness from the malt.
Taste: Definitely a lot of orange juice flavours going on, but passionfruit mango, and pineapple notes too. A nice bitterness at the end that's not overpowering. A mellow sweetness from the malt throughout the do us balances the bright citrus flavours.
Feel:: A little watery and thin. Quite carbonated, but highly refreshing. A slightly stronger ABV would give it a bit more body.
Overall: A really nice Hazy Pale Ale. Tropical/Hawaiian/Summer beers are all the rage, and Ballistic do a nice, clean refreshing one. The pineapple is where I suspect the Hawaiian comes from, but like the style of pizza could be a gimmick.
