On-draught @ Ballistic Cannonvale.
Warm, to be sure, with obvious booziness reducing its drinkability substantially. Overripe apricot, warm pineapple, apple skin, pear.
Not a bad expression of the intended style by any means, just not very drinkable given the noticeably high ABV which throws it out of balance.
I don't love the hop profile, but it's a better hoppy ale than most I've found in Queensland, which is rife with underpowered lowish ABV so-called "XPAs" (despite there being nothing e{x}erimental about them)...here at least we have a hoppy ale that actually tries, but whilst it bests its regional competition handily I can't say it holds a candle to even the merely "good" expressions of the style in the international arena.
