Undermountain Black Lager is a traditional German Schwarzbier brewed with pilsen malt, dark Munich malt, and roasted wheat malt to give a deep, dark color with less bitterness than roasted barley. A dash of German descended Crystal hops round out this dark treat that is very refreshing and crisp with a hint of roast.

Served as part of a beer flight at the brewery. This German style Schwarzbier is definitely black in body, with a small head. Some maltiness on the nose. First sip is nicely balanced with some roasted malt and a bit of hops bitterness. A tasty example of the style.
