The HPA is a blend of American grains and hops, fermented with Belgian yeast. It's a lighter tasting, crisp clean ale. The HPA has tropical phenolic compounds of banana and citrus, followed by hints of allspice and clove and finishes with the undertone of bitterness from Cascade hops. Our HPA is as much about where and how you drink as it is about the design. Inspired by the laid back lifestyle we enjoy. It’s meant to be shared with good friends at beach bbqs, or with the crew at your local joint.

Brownish gold with two fingers of foamy, brownish gold tinged head. The smell is of crème brûlée, pineapples,. The taste follows the nose. It has a dull, bitter finish. Medium light body with little carbonation. I got this in Fukuoka, Japan, where I’m drinking it June 2, 2023. A decent beer.

I’m not quite sure that I’m getting the “hawaiian” thing here. Why is it a Hawaiian style Pale Ale when it’s straight up a Belgian style to be honest? Belgian yeast is all over, both in the aroma and the taste and the latter kind of thins out a bit with some sour aftertaste... As a Pale Ale I would expect something slightly fruitier but at least something better balanced with malts, but hey, had worse beers than this one. Not bad but unfortunately not my thing - guess that’s the fault of the Belgian yeast (that I quite don’t like). Without it it could be a bit better.

Bought a 6-pack cans Don Quijote $8.99
Added picture you see and brewery
Slight caramel smell
Light amber color
Medium-light mouthfeel
Medium-light carbonation
Light caramel taste, just a tinge of bitterness, thin tasting
Overall not a memorable beer. Just ok. It's not a Hawaiian beer, although it may make you think it is. Probably would not buy again.
