ive always liked these guys, but its never been their hoppy stuff to stoke me up the most, not that it hasnt been fun, but this is a new level of quality in these styles for them i reckon, i dont know what the hops are, and its not revolutionary, but its real well refined in a style that permits a much lower degree of that, its clean to drink, bright and light as these go, and fresh as can be in my experience, pretty much everything i want in a hazy, despite it maybe not being the most interesting beer. really pale in the glass, yellowy straw colored and not real dense at all, fizzy like a soda too and holding some white head, looks lighter than most. its nose and flavor are identical, no fall off from the former to the latter, pineapple, meyer lemon, yuzu, honeydew, a little sativa grapey vibe too, up front like cryo hops are in the mix too, no burn or greenness despite the intensity, and very low on bitterness overall. slight peach as it warms, honey too, floral and sticky, some body from the grain but just a light dry cereal complexion, not quite balanced but it really doesnt need to be. the ferment is relatively clean, the finish is quick, and the hop residuals are real enjoyable. they did a nice job with this, but it stands out from the crowd more on quality than on uniqueness to me, which is totally cool. need to pop back in here when i am in salt lake next, they do so much now...

500 ml bottle from the brewery store. Pours hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruit at first but as it warms it gets more and more of a sulfur stink. Taste is a good balance between juicy tropical fruit and bitter hops. Bitter finish. This could be a really good NEIPA but the sulfur smell really ruins it. Saltfire seems to have a quality control problem because I have smelled sulfur in some of their other beers.

he beer is another creation from Saltfire. They have done great in the brewery department thus far. The barreled aged Baltic Porter they made was excellent. The beer is 45 degrees and served in a pint glass. The beer produced a two finger creamy and frothy brilliant white head with exceptional retention. The head dissipated rather slowly and left no lacing on the glass. The color of the beer is SRM 4 a pale gold with straw hues. The clarity of the beer is slightly hazy.

Aromas of the beer are oranges, lemons, pineapple, mangos, crackers, floral, resin, a touch of grapefruit, and papaya.

The flavors in the beer are huge oranges, lemons, papaya, mangos, pineapple, grapefruit, pine, floral, crackers, honey, resin, floral, and grassy.

The mouthfeel of the beer is juicy and velvety.

The body of the beer is a medium plus, medium carbonation, and medium plus finish.

I am perplexed by this beer. The malt backbone on this beer is fat. The mouthfeel of the beer is velvety, not crisp. The beer has this immense juiciness like an excellent New England IPA. I really enjoyed this New England IPA Saltfire created.
