I have followed this brewery from its inception; I always try to get something from them when I travel. A new beer in this IPA series for me to try. Using a tulip glass, I served the beer at around 44 degrees. The pour created a frothy and creamy two-fingered head with excellent retention. The slow dissipation left bits of lacing on the glass. Charting the color around SRM 6, deep gold with straw yellow hues. The clarity is brilliant, with some carbonation visible. The appearance is above average for this style.
Nosing the glass, I smell mango, oranges, floral esters, pineapple, toasted malts, light malty sweetness, and a light herbal note.
Tasting the beer, I detect mangos, oranges, floral esters, pineapple, toasted malts, bread, light malty sweetness, lightly grassy, and a touch of pine resin.
The mouthfeel is astringent and dry. The body is medium and has a medium, with a long finish.
These series are a pleasure to enjoy. I love how they highlight different hop profiles. The results are often enjoyable, as is the case here. I enjoyed this IPA looking forward to the next one in the series.
