it looks like they do a couple of different versions of this one, it was cranberry and orange when we visited the brewery, very festive, and both an enjoyable and thoughtful beer, but i was pretty impressed with everything we had from saltfire, they seem a bit more ambitious and new wave than a lot of the other utah craft beer i have had over the years. the color here is juicy reddish orange, lots of color taken from the cranberries for sure, a nice head from the bottle too. aroma is fruit forward no doubt, but there is an estery almost belgian yeast character here too keeping it plenty beery, also somehow really light. orange meets a white wine sort of fruitiness that really is cool with it, and the cranberries are kind of tangy over the wheat base, keeping it from being too heavy, its very festive to me for holiday time, and its quite complex, but at the same time, its very approachable, folks who i think might not dig a saison dupont would dig this, which is crazy for all thats going on here, but its fruity enough to attract a wide audience, and it ends up dry and with some saison yeast character at the end, nice proportions through it. it could use a little more carbonation to keep it singing, but aside from that, i thought this was great. these guys are doing some really cool beers! id love to try whatever other editions of this they do...
edit: moving the review from january 2019 over to this varietal specific edition from a generic listing for the base saison, bunch of versions of this exist now with their own listings, this one remains my favorite of the couple ive had.
