Clearing out the fridge with the current stock, then restocking with cellar beers. I have had this beer for at least two months; it is a session beer. I am using a tulip glass and serving the beer at 44 degrees. The pour created frothy, foamy, airy, three-fingered, white head with excellent retention. The slow dissipation left chunks of lacing on the glass. The color is pale yellow with a light golden hue, somewhat hazy, with an SRM of 4. The beer's overall appearance is above average for this style.
Nosing the beer, I detect notes of pine, floral bouquet, grass, morning dew, light toasted malts, oranges, lemons, pineapple, mangos, papaya, bready notes, and light malty sweetness.
The flavors start with tropical fruit notes of pineapple, papaya, and mangoes, then transition to oranges, lemons, and apples. The malt backbone is firm; I taste toasted malt, breadiness, and a light malty sweetness. Other flavors I tasted include pine, a floral bouquet, grass, and a light mineral note.
The mouthfeel is slightly astringent, finishing crisp and dry. The body is light, with medium-plus carbonation.
Final Thought: A fantastic beer to end Thanksgiving weekend with. The beer is light, crisp, and comes across as watery—huge hop presence without the high ABV; well done.
