Name: Oktoberfest Bier
Brewery: SaltFire Brewing
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Style: Festbier
ABV: 5%
Canned: No package date, but I did pick this up about the time they were canning it.
Date: 03 December 2025
I do enjoy Marzen beers over Fest but by a thin margin. I am drinking SaltFire's Oktoberfest Bier. I have already consumed quite a few of these before I decided to review them. I am using a pint glass and serving the beer at 44 degrees. The pour created a frothy, airy, two-fingered, white head with average retention. The somewhat average dissipation left bits of lacing on the glass. The color is pale yellow with a light golden hue, charting at SRM 5, and is clear. The beer's overall appearance is average.
Nosing the glass, I smell toasted bread, crackers, light floral notes, yeasty notes, a light herb, hay, and a subtle earthiness.
The Oktoberfest flavors start with grass, hay, floral notes, crackers, light toasted malts, a touch of malty sweetness, minerality, a light floral bouquet, and yeasty notes.
The mouthfeel is light, finishing crisp and dry. The body is medium-light, with medium carbonation.
Final Thought: After quaffing several of these beers, they have grown on me. I really enjoy the hops being more forward than the malt. The hops are not overpowering like some others I have tried. Overall, another solid offering from SaltFire.
