A:
Pours a crystal clear darkish gold with champagne carbonation and a sustained white fluff (three fingers to one). Good retention; little puffs of lace. (4.25)
S:
Sweet. Mango, guava, lime, bready malts. (4.25)
T:
Moderately bitter bite with fruity middle and a grapefruit pith finish, fairly meaty malt character. (4)
M:
Dry and snappy, relatively chewy, active carbonation, well-hidden alcohol. (4)
O:
An enjoyable IIPA.
It pours very nice with a big head and champagne carbonation. The hops are more present in the nose but are there throughout. The aroma is really clean/crisp if that makes sense with some lime and sweeter tropical fruits not really "juicy" though. The flavor is pretty bitter with A thick bready body. This is a good west coast IPA that I am glad I grabbed a couple of. It is maybe a little sweeter than I like on the malt front but is otherwise very tasty. (4)

M-Medium body with lower end carbonation, with a chewy factor, possibly from the high alcohol content
T-Sweet upfront with a basic bitterness that turns slightly acidic and alcoholic. There is a malt that challenges any hop flavours and wins unfortunately.
O-Not a bad beer, but I was expecting something more. There is a gimmick of cryogenic hops that is advertised, but not really delivered. I wanted to like it more than I did...

From a 473ml can with an indecipherable date stamp. Served in a Brasserie Dunham-branded tulip.
Pours a heavily hazed, majestically rich golden color with two-plus fingers of fluffy, foamy head. Retention is pretty good, leaving a thick, foamy collar and a heavy curtain of fat lacing.
Aroma is richly malty, clean and sweet. Bread rolls and candy. Inviting.
Taste is malt-forward, rich and smooth as glass, tasting of sweet grain, followed by a bracing bitterness. Earthy and herbal, light pine with a faint, musty, sweet tropical fruit flavor in the background. There is a notable level of residual sugar here which, rather than being a flaw, really makes the complex blend of flavours from the Simcoe, centennial and mosaic hops pop out and complement what might otherwise be a heavily bready malt base.
Mouthfeel is smooth and near-creamy with some chew, medium-hefty bodied, with ample but otherwise gentle carbonation and no detectable alcohol... #runonsentence.
Overall, this was a frigging terrific beer that sort of blurs the boundaries between west coast and east coast IPA styles and, in many respects, improves on each. It is a masterful brew and if I hadn’t been writing this review, I don’t know that I’d have taken the time to appreciate its subtlety in the way the layers of flavor complement and built upon each other. Hugely recommended.
