Look: It pours very dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is very good.
Smell: It has strong aromas of coffee with some brownie elements mix in. There are some citrus notes in the background with some chocolate.
Taste: It has coffee flavors with citrus and chocolate. There are some dark fruits feature plums as the most noticeable flavors.
Feel: It has a medium full body with alcohol warming and a bitter aftertaste.
Overall: This is a very unique beer. It is a bit strange, but oddly enough, it works.

Appearance: Pours coffee colored with a modest bubble show that builds to a one finger tan head; plenty of spots linger
Smell: Heavy on the roasted malt aromatics with Baker's chocolate and coffee tones complementing; there is also a vauge hop element that is present
Taste: The hops are much more pronounced on the palate than in the aroma with tropical fruit and citrus intermingly with the heavily roasted malt flavors; Baker's chocolate emerges, in the middle, while dark roasted coffee brings up the rear
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Black IPAs are a tough style to pull off and while this has some rough edges, the flavors work well enough for this to be one of the few I have had that I would want to drink again
